Anamastit® S for intramammary infusion in dry females, is a product that provides bactericidal activity against mastitis causing microorganisms, particularly for strains of Staphylococus aureus, and Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus disgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli, Corynebacterium bovis, Klebsiellla pneumoniae and Trueperella pyogenes.
Cloxacillin Benzathine is a low solubility salt of the semi-synthetic penicillin Cloxacillin, which is classified in the same group as penicillins, but in the subgroup of penicillins resistant to penicillinase. This specifically gives the molecule a broader action spectrum, fighting strains of microorganisms resistant to penicillin (being the most important of the Staphylococcus sp. genre).
In the non-lactating mammary gland, Anamastit® S provides levels of the active ingredient for a long period of time, once, in addition to Cloxacillin Benzathine, the product has a vehicle that provides the formulation with a slow and gradual release of the antibiotic. This is important in the prevention, to avoid colonization of the mammary tissue by pathogenic bacterial, as well as in the treatment, increasing over time the contact between the active ingredient and the microorganism.
For the treatment of mastitis of infectious origin, during the dry period of the milk production cycle. Anamastit® S has specific action against the following microorganism species: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Trueperella pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Corynebacterium bovis and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Anamastit® S should only be used in animals during the dry period.
To be administered intramammary. The managment of dairy cows recommends that the drying of the cows should occur about 60 days before calving. Apply the product at the end of each milking process, or at the beginning of the dry period. Remove completely the milk from the quarters of the mammary glands. The udder and teats must be washed with warm water containing the appropriate antiseptic. Dry preferably using individual paper towels (one for each teat). After drying each teat, remove the protection cover of the syringe, insert the cannula completely in the teat canal and apply the entire content of the syringe. Then massage the gland for better distribution of the active ingredient.
